The Johnny Max Band (JMB) have been delivering their distinctive brand of Blues for over 30 years. Led by enigmatic band leader, Johnny Max, the band has a reputation for its mix of swampy Blues, R&B and Soul, along with a healthy dose of funky New Orleans rhythms.  Max’s baritone voice makes him the centre of the band that’s formed some of the finest players in the nation.  Still, the operative word when one thinks of Johnny Max Band is fun!

Johnny Max Band has launched a number of tours across Canada and Europe (they’re fan favourites in Canada but are also adored in Scotland and Ireland) where they’ve appeared at prestigious festivals including Copenhagen Blues Festival,  Great British Blues Festival, Bluesfest Eutin (Baltic), and theatres.  The band has released 7 acclaimed CDs, receiving two JUNO Award nominations for Blues Album Of the Year, and multiple Maple Blues Award nominations. JMB also won the International Songwriting Competition for “Daddy’s Little Girl,” from their “It’s A Long Road” release.
