Announcing Calgary Bluesfest 2022!

The summer months are just around the corner, as is the best week of the summer, when Calgary International Blues Festival will run July 25 – 31, 2022!

A full week of blues workshops, concerts and special  events culminates in 4 days & nights of non-stop music on MainStage, followed by the Twilight Blues dance parties!  Bring your family down to  Shaw Millennium Park to enjoy world class music, our  colourful arts market, delicious cuisine by local food trucks, cool beverages by Last Best Brewery & Distillery, and get your festival souvenirs signed by artists  in the merchandise tent!  Sit in the shade in our giant tent, lay your blanket on  the  grass and enjoy the sunshine… and bring your dancing shoes!

Starring Blues Hall of Fame inductee Joe Louis Walker, Texas “Golden Girl” Trudy Lynn,  Chicago blues great Lurrie Bell, fiery contemporary blues vocalist Janiva Magness, the reunion of three giants in  blues, The Silent Partners, formed by Jonathan Ellison, Russell Jackson and Tony Coleman,  Harps of  Gold featuring Steve Marriner, Roly Platt, Guy Belanger, Richie Pollack, and Sherman Doucette,  and three guitar legends in one tour de force, with Amos Garrett, Doug Cox and Tim Williams, R&B, funk & soul greats the Blackburn Brothers … and many more!

    The Toronto Blues Society board of directors is pleased to announce Calgary’s Cindy McLeod as the winner of the newly renamed John Valenteyn Blues Booster of the Year award, a very special Maple Blues Award honouring outstanding contribution to the Canadian blues music industry. The esteemed award has been renamed in honour of the late John Valenteyn, a co-founder of the Toronto Blues Society, long-time radio DJ, and dedicated volunteer.
